I walk my dog each day in the early morning. Sometimes I listen to music, sometimes to the news and sometimes, like today, I put my ear pods in but just listen to my thoughts. I find myself angry with the bold-faced lies being told on all the political commercials. How do I know they’re lies? ...Because I know the people who are being targeted. I have known many of them for years. Of course, they don’t have the hundreds of thousands of dollars it would take to mount a counter campaign. So, I am taking it upon myself to tell a few truths about some of the people running for office.
Let’s start at the top – Pritzker-Besides being the epitome of somebody born on third base who thinks they hit a triple, and ballooning the budget by $16 Billion dollars, I have never forgiven him for killing senior citizens during covid. Yep, he did the exact same thing as Cuomo did in New York – sending seniors with covid back into senior living facilities. Didn’t hear about that? That’s because there are still one or two journalists with integrity in New York. Here? Not so much.
How about Ben McAdams – He’s running for Senator in my district. A self-avowed socialist who still lives at home with his Mommy & Daddy. He’s never had a real job (activist is NOT a real job) and apparently never paid a dollar in property taxes. You want this kid in a position of power? Seriously? How about Amanda Zorhak, running for State Representative. She says Housing is her big issue. Thinks Pritzker’s ‘Build Act ‘is a good solution. You want a six-flat apartment building next to your single-family home? The State will take over local zoning power so you better hope there’s no empty lots or tear downs near you.
There’s Melissa Ford, candidate for County Board District 1. In every campaign ad that I have seen, she advertises her little coffee shop. Now I’m no election lawyer but if she is using political donations for these ads, it certainly seems a fraudulent use of campaign funds. You can’t skip Michael Childress, DuPage County Board Member District 1. If he stays awake for an entire County Board meeting it may be the first time. This is not a serious person; he simply votes how he is told to by the County Chairperson Deb Conroy. The same Deb Conroy who just voted herself a $50,000 raise. Did you get a $50,000 raise this year – yeah me neither. Maybe it was because she increased the County budget by 40% in four years – the largest increase in one election cycle in the history of DuPage County!
Let’s take the County Clerk Candidate Paula Deacon Garcia. You want to talk about a lack of judgement? She supported and campaigned for the current Clerk TWICE! So did every Democrat on the County Board – they are all responsible for the disaster that is the DuPage County Clerk’s Office.
Lastly, how about the Candidate for Sheriff – Peter Coolidge. This guy spent 28 years as a DuPage County employee and never once got promoted. To anything. Ever. Maybe that’s because his judgement may be a bit suspect what with the murder of the woman he was allegedly having an affair with, or his harassment case or maybe it was his federal use-of-force lawsuit?
The difference between this and the political ads on TV is that this is all true. Do your research. Maybe I’ll just listen to music on my walk tomorrow.
